about
"Sadness" is the 2nd release off of tDM's upcoming ep entitled "Eight Emotions". An EP based around Robert Plutchik's theory of 8 core emotions that all other emotions are derived from. "Sadness" expands on the lonely emptiness of depression that anyone may endure throughout their life time, a topic very personal to several members of tDM. The melancholy foundation of this ballad drives home the powerful lyrics and true emotion behind "Sadness"
lyrics
Never been one to fade away,
Standing on the back of defeat.
Hoping for a climax to...
Everything I’ve always wanted.
A bird in flight could
Follow me to my end, and just drop dead
Give up, self destruct
Blow the whole thing up.
Never be enough, never be enough to cure this
Hey now, give yourself a breakdown
Hey now, burn another bridge down
Hey now, give yourself a breakdown
Hey now, burn another bridge down
Sadness, this sadness washes over you.
And washes over me.
Pushing hard just to feel the way
I’ve been told that I have to be
Leaning in to disassociate
From all of those that mean the most
The deepest hole could
Swallow me, until I’m gone, and spit me out
Fold up, deconstruct
Sleep forever in this tomb
Never be enough, never be enough to help me
Hey now, give yourself a breakdown
Hey now, burn another bridge down
Hey now, give yourself a breakdown
Hey now, burn another bridge down
Sadness, this sadness washes over you.
And washes over me.
There's emptiness behind these walls.
And a melancholy ringing in these halls.
Everywhere I am I feel alone.
Less important than your phone.
There's no future in my head.
a permanent vacation in my bed.
